4. Avery's Po-boys
2510 Tulane Ave. (504)821-4110
Avery's is the biggest surprise of 2012-13. For my money, this family operated po-boy shop/restaurant is the best overall po-boy shop in greater New Orleans. Their oyster rockefeller po-boy is worth a trip across town for a taste. No reservations. Lunch Mon.-Sat
