Take a good look around the bathroom for any signs of excessive wear. The gradual signs of use are hard to notice in places you see every day.
- The towels may have slowly lost their original bright colors and may be starting to fray. Buy a set of new towels to keep under the sink and replace your everyday ones right before buyers come to look at your home.
- Scrub the tub and freshen the grout if necessary. Give the tub a fresh caulking. If you are short on time and patience, try one of the self-adhesive strips, which can be found at your local home repair store.
- Clean out the medicine cabinet. Get rid of ancient prescriptions and half-used bottles that expired when the first Bush was president.
- Clear the counters of personal items. Stash them under the sink or in a well-organized cabinet.
- Keep the mirror sparkling and consider adding a small plant.
- Invest in a new shower curtain and toilet seat. A new shower curtain shouldn't cost more than a few dollars.
